Newsletter Vol. 11 WINTER 2026

Dear Artists and Friends,

Does ART MV provide a public benefit to our community?

I’m writing to share an important update about ART MV’s main resource, our website, myartmv.com.
Unless meaningful support comes together in the coming weeks, myartmv.com will go offline in April. This decision has not been made lightly. The platform was created with the intention of supporting Martha’s Vineyard artists and connecting them with local opportunities that benefit our entire community, in alignment with the mission outlined on the About page of the site. It has always been a labor of care, belief, and hope for what could be built collectively.

Over time, it has become clear that the burden of running ART MV is simply too much for one person to sustain alone. Funding has not materialized, outreach to established art organizations and craft shows has gone largely unanswered, and consistent help from artists to run and maintain the platform has not come together. Managing every aspect—vision, administration, technology, funding, outreach, and content—without shared support is no longer sustainable.

That said, there is still time to save myartmv.com, and ART MV.

If funders step forward, if organizations engage, and if artists are willing to participate not only by submitting work, but by helping support the platform itself, the site can continue. The door remains open, and I genuinely hope that the collective value of this resource will be recognized before it goes dark.

I want to extend sincere thanks to everyone who has shown interest, offered thoughtful feedbacksubmitted artwork, or taken the time to engage with the project. Your support has mattered, and it has been deeply appreciated. Regardless of what happens next, ART MV has stood as a good-faith effort to serve the island’s creative community. I remain grateful for the conversations it sparked and the connections it made possible.

If you are interested in helping continue this project—through funding, organizational support, or hands-on assistance—please reach out to ART MV. Expressions of interest and collaboration at this stage could make a meaningful difference.
With gratitude,

—Saundra LaBell
Director, ART MV
