Participate in art shows on Martha’s Vineyard. The list below includes curated group shows, theme shows, solo shows, and more. Some shows allow artists to sell their work while some ask for donations or allow opportunity for exposure. Let us know if we missed any places for for artists to show their work (or if your art show listing is incomplete) so we can list it here for free!

Anonymous Art at Featherstone Center for the Arts

Anonymous Art is a fun and creative art show featuring 6″x6″ works of art donated by local artists. All anonymously created artwork is for sale for $100 with both professional and novice artists participating. Attendees of the event have the opportunity to sign up for a one in six chance to win the pieces of their choosing, not knowing who created the artwork.

Bass in the Grass

A Fall Art Initiative from the Edgartown Board of Trade. The annual Bass In the Grass Fundraiser in honor of the Martha’s Vineyard Striped Bass & Bluefish Derby fall of 2024. The initiative helps raise money for local artists, the EBT, and the Derby Scholarship Fund, a fund that gives to qualified Vineyard students annually by the Martha’s Vineyard Striped Bass & Bluefish Derby, Inc.

Chilmark Free Public Library

The Chilmark Free Public Library is pleased to offer artists the opportunity to display their art exhibits. Requests to show artwork will be accepted starting October for the following year. Artists who have exhibited their work at the Chilmark Free Public Library must wait 3 calendar years before applying to have another exhibition.

Responsibility for exhibit selection resides with the Art Advisory Committee. All potential exhibitors must complete the Art Show Application, available to download at the bottom of the linked webpage, and email to chil.programs@gmail.com .

Feldman Family Artspace

Featherstone Center for the Arts is pleased to collaborate with the MV Film Society in managing the Feldman Family Artspace at the MV Film Center in Vineyard Haven. A juried selection, Featherstone reviews submissions and selects artists to display work at the Film Center, subsequently working with each artist to coordinate their shows. ​Every effort is made to achieve a balance of different media.

CALL FOR ART presented by Visit Vineyard Haven

“JAWS – AN ARTIST’S PERSPECTIVE”

MV ARTISTS: You’re invited to dive into an iconic celebration of Jaws, the legendary film that made our island famous, as we honor its legacy through the eyes of our creative community. All mediums welcome! Show us your unique take on the themes, imagery, mood, or impact of Jaws. Literal or abstract, humorous or haunting: we want to see it all. All money received from auction sales will be distributed 50/50 between the artist and the Vineyard Haven Harbor Cultural District.

Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival

The Academy accredited Run&Shoot Filmworks Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival also known as “The Summer’s Finest Film Festival” is now entering its 23rd year on Martha’s Vineyard. We have screened and promoted some of the most outstanding and emerging Feature, Documentary and Short films produced by and starring African Americans from across the world. The majority of screenings and events take place at Martha’s Vineyard Performing Arts Center (MVPAC).

Possible Dreams Auction

MV Community Services’ 47th annual Possible Dreams auction is not just a fundraising effort; it’s a celebration of hope and the power of dreams. We welcome the opportunity to come together in celebration of our shared values as a caring and strong island community.

Thank you for your interest in donating an item for this year’s Possible Dreams auction. Please submit donations by June 15th, 2025. Donations are at MVCS’ discretion to be offered at auction. MVCS reserves the right not to accept certain items.

Potters Bowl at Featherstone Center for the Arts

As always, free reclaim clay and waived open studio and firing fees are available for creating bowls for this fundraising event. Bowl artists are invited to attend the event and receive a complimentary bowl (and soup) as our thank you to you. A good guideline for bowl making is to try and make bowls that can hold at least 12 oz. We would like bowls to be delivered by Tuesday, September 3rd. Please contact Sabrina Kuchta via email if you would like to participate.
